摘要
A complex of Zn(II) metal ion with the anti-inflammatory drug, alpha-methyl-4-(2-methylpropyl) benzeneacetic acid (ibuprofen) was synthesised and characterized. The complex was characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy, X-ray diffractometry and thermal analysis. By the mentioned methods, but especially elemental and thermal analysis was determined the empirical formulae, as Zn(IB)(2)(H2O2)(2). The FT-IR spectroscopy and X-ray analysis show that the anti-inflammatory drug acts as bidentate chelate ligand co-ordinatively bound to metal ion through the deprotonated carboxylate group. By means of the thermal analysis effectuated under non-isothermal conditions in a dynamic air atmosphere, was determined the nature of the included water, that is co-ordination water. After dehydration, starts the decomposition of anhydrous compound with the formation of ZnO as final product.
