Detectors whose operating principle is based on recording the energy reflection coefficient in a prism waveguide excitation system are proposed for measuring physical quantities. The possibilities of maximizing the sensitivity of these devices is determined. An experimental investigation was made of a detector for the ammonia concentration in the atmosphere.
