Theology as Scientific Specialization.

The article represents critical analysis of arguments contra recognition of theology as a specie of science. The author considers theology as a complex and multi-level system of cognitive practices and disciplines. Through a comparison with philosophy a level, completely relevant to all basic criterions of academic research exposes. The difference in subject between scientific theology in this sense and the study of religion is grounded. Theology considers as a study of the faith of the Church, which goal is to expose the norm of religious consciousness of concrete church society in horizon of the history of Church. A thesis is proving that state acceptance of academic status of theology doesn't contradict the principle of secularity but is relevant to necessity of realization of civil rights of believers and actual needs of Church, of state and civil society. In conclusion the obligations which are imposing on theology by its academic, civil and state recognition are under discussion.
