Simulation of the Mixing Efficiency of Y-shaped Micro-channel under Pulsing Flows

摘要
A numerical investigation of the characteristics of pulsing flows by varying flow velocity to enhance the flow mixing efficiency at low Reynolds number region was performed. A Y-shaped micro-channel was used. Two pulsing flows having the same flow rate with a 180 degrees phase angle were injected into the two inlets of the channel. A universal curve, independent of the frequency of pulsing flow and the volume flow rate, was obtained. Finally, it was also found that the curve of the mixing efficiency is a frequency-dependent function based on a power-law with a power of 1.625.
