The refined version of an applied theory is developed, that adopting the analytical solution of the bending problem of three-layer plate of arbitrary asymmetric structure under point loading. Local effects are investigated within the scope of the discrete model, considering specific character of soft filler elastic properties. Advantages of the solution are the expressions of bending characteristics in a closed form: layer curvatures, displacements and stresses. These characteristics are shown to be varied several fold according to the asymmetry parameters of a structure. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
