摘要
This paper is a systematic study of dispersion properties of Photonic Crystal Fibers (PCF) with a small doped core and high index contrast obtained by significant air fraction volume. Different possibilities of obtaining anomalous and zero dispersion in PCFs have been achieved. The goal is to present the engineered zero dispersion and design flat dispersion diagram over wide spectrum of operating wavelengths. It is shown from numerical results that it is possible to achieve a flattened chromatic dispersion of - 0.025 ps/nm/km from a wavelength of 1200 nm to 1700 nm using a highly non-linear PCF. The interplay between geometry and chromatic dispersion has been described, primarily normalized hole diameter and the diameter of PCF's core are studied by their influence in dispersion control.
