摘要
Because wavelet is adapted to high compression ratio and has very good subjective quality, people pay considerable attention to wavelet image coding. In the paper, a wavelet image compression scheme is proposed based on bit-plane context and arithmetic coding. It employs ancestors-descendants and neighboring coefficients redundancy more sufficiently and improve compression performance. Experiments show that the scheme is among the best image coder.
