Synthesis, characterization and in vitro antibacterial evaluation of 1-(7,7-dimethyl-2-morpholino-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroquinazolin-4-yl)piperidine-4-carboxamide derivatives

摘要
A series of six novel 1-(7,7-dimethyl-2-morpholino-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroquinazolin-4-yl)piperidine-4-carboxamide derivatives has been synthesized and characterized using various spectral techniques (H-1 and C-13 NMR, LCMS, IR). The antibacterial activities of these compounds have been screened against nine different Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial strains. The results show that quinazoline derivatives containing thiazole ring 2a and 2b exhibit good antibacterial activity amongst the compounds under investigation.
