摘要
The standard fractal image compression algorithm because of high time complexity of coding step may be applied for fast data transfer on networks, if the transmitted images were previously compressed long before broadcasting. However, the fractal compression ratio received by Jh. Hutchinson and used proposed classification scheme details, allows telling about a new class of methods which can be a serious concurrent to the JPEG technologies. This paper deals with the uploaded algorithm of fractal image compression to spherical image coding allowing not only fast compress images with the a priori given peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), but also to code the images line by line in real time and may be used in image detection. The results of compression of the colour and grayscale images, characteristic times of coding in the report will be compared with the JPEG standard of compression. The carried out experiments have shown the developed algorithm is approximately twice stronger than well known JPEG2000 standard at the same quality.
