Etwa 10% der Patienten mit Asthma leiden trotz maximaler Standardtherapie unter Symptomen und Exazerbationen. Das Thymic Stromal Lymphopoietin (TSLP) korreliert mit der Atemwegsobstruktion, der Krankheitsschwere und einer Kortikosteroidresistenz. Der monoklonale Antikorper Tezepelumab bindet TSLP spezifisch und reduziert die lokale Entzundung. Die randomisierte Doppelblindstudie belegte seine schnelle und hohe Wirksamkeit bei Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen.
