摘要
In this paper a simple mathematical model is formulated to study the static and dynamic instabilities of collapsible tubes conveying viscous fluids. The governing equations of motion for the pipe are derived under small deformation assumptions with the consideration of fluid frictional forces and inertia effects. In the case of steady flow, both buckling and flutter instabilities can be predicted based on the real and imaginary parts of the eigen-values. In the case of pulsatile flow, the Bolotin method is employed to identify the dynamic stability regions.
