摘要：
The nature of the relationship between obesity and psychopathology has become the focus of increasingly sophisticated empirical investigation. This article summarizes data from epidemiologic studies and clinical trials related to five key questions: (1) How are obesity and psychopathology related cross-sectionally? (2) How are these characteristics associated in longitudinal observations? (3) How common are psychiatric disorders among obese persons seeking weight loss therapy? (4) How does intentional weight loss affect psychopathology (and vice versa)? and (5) How can psychotropic agents that induce weight gain be managed in patients who require such medication?
