Malignant ameloblastoma with thoracic vertebral, metastasis: PET/CT and MR imaging

摘要：

Ameloblastoma is an uncommon low-grade tumor of odomogenic origin involving predominantly the mandible. This neoplasm has a high propensity for local recurrence with incomplete resection. It may exhibit an aggressive behavior with potential dissemination to the lung, locoregional lymph nodes, and spine. The author presents a case of malignant ameloblastoma with solitary lower thoracic vertebral metastasis. F-18 FDG PET was helpful in the early detection of asymptomatic thoracic spine dissemination, which was not conspicuous on computed tomography examination.
