摘要
This study assesses the potential of selected efficient electrical appliances for CO2 mitigation and reduced power generation in Nepal, from the technical as well as national, utility and user perspectives. The study shows that entire amount of CO2 emission (about 1 million tons) could be avoided by the selected efficient appliances during 1996-2010 from the technical, national and utility perspectives. However, only about 50% of the total CO2 emission could be mitigated cost-effectively from the user perspective at the prevailing electricity and appliance prices. The level of CO2 mitigation from the user perspective would be significantly higher if an efficient electricity pricing policy were adopted.
