摘要
Clinoptilolite can serve the function of removing trace soluble organic pollutants from water, especially after activation. The best activator for clinoptilolite is NaCl solution that can improve the adsorption performance evidently. The activator consumption required was also determined. Activators can increase the specific surface of clinoptilolite evidently that are related to adsorption. Filtration experiment results show the removal effect on the pollutants including phenol, chloroform, anion detergent, benzene and ammonia by activated clinoptilolite is much better than that by silica sand. For the cheap cost it is possible to use activated clinoptilolite as a substitute for silica sand to improve the tap water quality in some water purification plants in China.
