Modeling of the phase change in a triplex pipe system enhanced with fins

摘要
A heat exchanger with phase change material was numerically analyzed and the effect of the fins design parameters on the melting time of the storage medium was examined. The simulations were conducted in accordance with the design of experiment technique. It took into account the change in the number of fins and their height. Increasing the number and length of fins shortened the time of the phase change, but too long fins inhibited convective currents.
