摘要
This paper introduces a fast restart hybrid MMC topology with fault ride-through capability. Different from the traditional hybrid MMC topology, this topology matches D-FBSM and HBSM one by one, and adds a clamp diode between the adjacent D-FBSM and HBSM. The single conductivity of the diode provides a new circuit for eliminating the fault current and changes the characteristics of bypassing HBSM during the fault. The new topology can quickly clear the fault current and distribute the energy evenly to the capacitors of each sub-module, so that the voltage of each capacitor is balanced, which is conducive to the rapid start-up of the system after the fault is over. This topology can realize fast isolation of DC faults and system recovery without controlling AC circuit breakers. Finally, the validity of the method is verified in MATLAB/Simulink.
