摘要
The end of the Cold War has brought about a new strategic architecture in the Asia-Pacific region, especially in East Asia. The evolution of Russo-Chinese relations has been one of the most significant changes in this regard with many speculating that the past enmity has been replaced by a new amity with the 'Russia-China strategic axis' brought about by 'pull' and 'push' factors a high possibility. The viability of this claim, and the potentials and limits of this development are the objects of this article. The article argues that a 'Russo-Chinese partnership' has emerged but falls far short of an 'axis' due to abiding gee-political and gee-strategic divergence of long term interests.
