摘要
Ti2AlN ceramic was successfully synthesized by thermal explosion (TE) of Ti/Al/TiN as raw material at temperatures ranging from 650 degrees C to 850 degrees C for 2 min. Based on the results of SEM and XRD, the effects of preheating temperature and heating rate on the phase purity and microstructure were studied and the formation mechanism for Ti2AlN is proposed. This work offers a low-cost approach to Ti2AlN ceramic due to the very low synthesis temperature and extremely short processing time. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
