摘要
The right to access information is a fundamental right supported by the 1988 Federal Constitution. In the context of the Coronavirus pandemic, data are important elements for the development of public policies and measures to contain the disease. In this sense, access to information is an indispensable human right to combat the pandemic in Brazil. The article addresses the decision of the Brazilian federal government to change the form of transparency of information, as well as the importance of the consortium developed by the press to maintain the truth and the measures to be developed as a counterpoint to the data presented by the Ministry of Health. The degree of transparency between Brazilian states and capitals is also analyzed. Finally, the consequences for Brazil in the international sphere are pointed out, due to the obstacles presented by the federal government in not following the recommendations of WHO, the World Health Organization.
