摘要
We first discuss the impact of planar microcavities to enhance extraction of spontaneous emission from an high-index emitting medium, chiefly in the weak coupling regime. We give a qualitative description of the impact of small cavity order and DBR mirrors. Results from more exact calculations are also presented and suggest that 40% extraction is possible. We then discuss the potential of the strong coupling regime in hybrid organic-semiconductor microcavities. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
