摘要：
In this paper we address different aspects of the LMC star formation through the analysis of the stellar population in star clusters and fields, as well as the connection between clusters and surrounding fields at different distances from the LMC dynamical center. We discuss the gap in star formation over the whole body of the galaxy for about a half of its life. We also discuss internal as well as external dynamical perturbations that might have helped to trigger star formation at different epochs.
