摘要
The present paper reports the general features of luminescence and various characterization techniques and mainly focused on the review of optical studies of rare earth (RE)-doped barium aluminate phosphor (BaAl2O4). The paper is a short review of various methods of preparation of this phosphor and its characterization by thermoluminescence, photoluminescence, mechanoluminescence, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, etc.; the corresponding results were compared. The RE dopants mainly include Eu, Dy, and Nd.
