摘要
The research thesis concentrates on the design and construction of an optimized controller for upfc to improve small signal stability of the power system by damping the oscillations. The damping controller gains are optimized by meta heuristic optimization technique known as Firefly Algorithm. The Firefly Algorithm has the capability to control every parameters of the propound damping controller. The efficiency of the suggested optimized damping controller is verified by comparing with other standard optimization techniques such as Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Differential Evolution (DE). The dynamic response of speed deviation are observed and was found that propound controller can effectively damp the power system oscillations under different load conditions.
