摘要
In the second half of the 18th century, in the lower Friuli the border between the Republic of Venice and the Empire was characterized by the presence of a large number of enclave, especially pastures owned by the Emperor but used also by neighboring communities. Within the new conception of state territoriality, a so confusing situation could no longer be tolerated Therefore a Commissariato was established in order to settle this question and provide a rational boundary system. Primary sources of the Camera dei Confini (State Archive of Venice) have been used in order to shed light on the criteria adopted by the Commissariato.
