摘要
Just like virtual reality (VR), it is believed that augmented reality (AR) could also be used to treat some psychological disorders like phobias. AR and VR share some advantages over the traditional treatments. However, AR gives a greater feeling of presence and reality judgement than VR because the environment and the elements the patient uses to interact with the application are real. Additionally, AR users see their own self, whereas VR only simulates the experience. With this note, AR is only suitable for patients that can use real elements or when it's possible to use or reproduce the real environment. If both premises aren't satisfied, VR is preferable.
