摘要
In this article we review what the region's social sciences have told us about the effects of the Covid-19 crisis on some crucial social dimensions: health, education, labour, income, wealth and poverty. The evidence suggests that the virulence of the pandemic in our region is linked to its structural inequalities which, in turn, are being reinforced by the pandemic. But beyond the multiple consequences that are already visible and have been partly mapped out, in this paper we argue that the available social science evidence warns of problems that, although less visible today, are likely to have after-effects in the future
