摘要
The effect of chronic Cd exposure (25 mg Cd as CdCl2, kg(-1) body wt day(-1) for 10 weeks) was studied on monkey liver glutathione S-transferase (Pi). A significant (209%) increase in GST activity toward EA [substrate of GST (Pi)] was observed. Results of sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and kinetic analysis indicated the induction of GST (Pi); The induction of GST (Pi) is identical with that observed in preneoplastic nodules generated in rat liver by different models of chemical carcinogenesis. Cadmium chloride can also help in investigating the mechanism of GST (Pi) gene expression in chemical hepatocarcinogenesis.
