摘要
Aim The aim of the study is to investigate the influence of socio-demographic and care-specific variables on the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of elderly residents in long-term care facilities. Method A dataset of 288 residents from long-term care facilities in Germany was analysed with regard to age, gender, nutritional status, continence status and fall events in relation to HRQoL (EQ-5D-5L). Results An age-adjusted multivariate linear regression analysis revealed significant associations of HRQoL with urinary incontinence (predominantly beta=-0.200; fully beta=-0.330; p<0.001), presence of urinary catheter (beta= -0.236; p<0.05), BMI<25 kg/m(2) (beta=-0.117; p <0.001) and female gender (beta = 0.079; p< 0.05). Conclusion The results highlight the importance of continence promotion in long-term care facilities to increase health-related quality of life.
