Dry-matter production, sugar yield and nitrogen-sulphur recovery by sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum) as influenced by concentrated organic manure, nitrogen and sulphur fertilization

摘要
A field experiment was conducted during 1995-96 and 1996-97 on sandy-loam soil at Pusa to study the effect of 3 levels of concentrated organic manure (0, 100 and 200 kg/ha), 4 nitrogen levels (50, 100, 150 and 200 kg/ha) and 2 sulphur levels (0 and 25 kg/ha) in sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.). Increasing levels of concentrated organic manure and nitrogen brought improvement in dry-matter production and sugar yield. Combination of 2.0 tonnes/ha of concentrated organic manure and 100 kg N/ha was found optimum for sugar production. There was a progressive increase in available N status of sail, N and S uptake by increasing concentrated organic manure and N. Sulphur application did not affect sugar yield but increased available S status of soil and N and S uptake by sugarcane.
