Preparation and characterization of rare earth-doped strontium hexaferrites Sr1-xMxFe12O19(M = La, Eu)

摘要
Strontium hexaferrite was doped by europium and lanthanum to form compounds of the type Sr1-xMxFe12O19(M = Eu, La). Doping was achieved by the calcination of metal oxides at 1250°C (120 h)m the calcination of precipitates at 925°C (2 h), and the hydrothermal processing of metal nitrates at 220°C (2 h). X-ray powder diffraction indicated the formation of similar materials by each method. The M3+ ions substituted the Sr2+ ions. As expected, the particle size increased with the temperature involved in the synthesis method.
