Research on the Design of Ceramic Design of Sottas in 1950-1970

After the end of World War II, in a short span of twenty years, Italy has formed its own features, specifically speaking, it has formed a "dual track system" features. On the one hand, the design of mass production has been strongly supported by industrialization, and new materials and high technology have been widely used. On the other hand, the old handicraft is not only lost, but also become more and more obvious. In a sense, the latter can be attributed to the unique and profound cultural and artistic traditions of the country, and it is in this tradition that the designer's self-consciousness can be fully developed. This paper selects Sottas as a typical case study of this phenomenon, and to his ceramic design as the starting point of research.
