Information and poverty: information-seeking channels used by African American low-income households

This study investigated the information environment, including the information seeking and information needs, of low-income largely African American households at the Parks at Wynnewood in Dallas, Texas. These households were surveyed regarding their household situation and their need for community and information services. Residents' information-seeking behavior focused on their family and neighbors, with a lower use of external channels, except for health and employment information issues.
