摘要：
The modalities and results of systemic chemotherapy and intraarterial (IA) chemotherapy with lipiodol as the vector and, if needed, Spongel embolization are reviewed. Because of high levels of multidrug resistance, the systemic route is disappointing even when combination chemotherapy is used. Although high objective response rates have been observed with IA chemotherapy, controlled trials have not provided proof that this method improves survival. Intraarterial therapy should be considered in selected patients versus other available alternatives.
