An efficient MPEG4 video authentication scheme with temporal filtering

摘要
This work describes a spatial digital video watermarking system capable of detecting and characterizing time-base attacks. The method does not require a drift compensation or a reference frame watermark leakage compensation system. It discriminates between dynamic and static regions without an increase in computational complexity. The embedded dynamic watermark is uniquely estimated by a temporal low-pass filtering technique which uses the motion vectors to reduce the introduced blurring effect. The embedded static watermark estimate is improved by watermark averaging. Its superior performance over traditional Maximum a Posteriori watermark estimation techniques allow extreme robustness to compression. The functionality of this system within an MPEG-4 implementation is demonstrated.
