摘要
The article aims to reflect on contemporary literature and theoretical contributions, dealing with issues such as literature and feminism, postmodernism, dystopia and historiographical metafiction. For this purpose, a theoretical framework will be used on these themes, starting from authors such as Hutcheon (1991), Campello (2003), Haraway (2004) and Figueiredo (2013). In the novel The Handmaid's Tale, Canadian writer Margaret Atwood provides the representation of different subjects that make up the female category, where the idea of stability is replaced by the idea of multiplicity of identities and singularities, thus composing a heterogeneous collective in which the discourse challenges the notion of center, and in which the dystopian discourse reinforces the difficulties that women are subjected to in contemporary society.
