Phase diagram of fragmented SU(2)-invariant spin ladders

摘要：
A two-parameter family of quantum spin ladders with local bilinear and biquadratic interactions. solvable by mapping onto fragments of integrable spin I chains, is studied. Phase diagram. consisting of four phases, ground state properties, and some excitations are discussed. Modulated structures of different periodicity, in particular a trimerized phase, are shown to appear. Some results are extended to the ladder associated to the most general spin I chain.
