Magnetic and magneto-transport properties of RuSr2GdCu2O8

摘要
We have investigated the magnetic and the magneto-transport properties of non-superconducting RuSr2GdCu2O8 (Ru-1212). The Ru sublattice shows a magnetic ordering at T-c = 148 K. An antiferromagfietic ordering of the Gd sublattice is clearly observed at 2.8 K. The rho -T behaviour is semiconducting with a kink in the vicinity of the T-c due to the reduction of spin scattering. Negative magnetoresistance due to a suppression of spin-flip scattering is relatively large, similar to4% at H = 4 T, even in the highly two-dimensional system.
