摘要
With the linguistic enrichment from the updated science, English for Science and Technology (EST) has attracted many researchers' attention. Since language is profoundly influenced by different cultures and thinking modes, which is closely related with cognitive ability, this paper aims to analyze EST on the basis of cognitive linguistics from three domains: the lexical level, grammatical level, and semantic level. It is hoped that the findings that the wide application of metaphor contributes a lot to the coherence and logicality of EST can provide reference for students of science and engineering to improve their English proficiency.
