THE URBAN LAW AND THE SUSTAINABLE CITY. A PROPEDEUTICAL ANALYSIS OF THE CASE OF THE REPUBLIC OF ECUADOR

The purpose of this article is to analyze, based on concepts of a general nature, the current relationship between urban law and sustainable city, and with special reference to the Ecuadorian case. In this sense, the current Ecuadorian reality is paradigmatic in terms of the existence of a limited number of adequate legal regulations, the lack of practice of urban planning law in the Academy, and a lack of policies to implement the regulations and, in your case, your sanction for non-compliance. From another point of view, this situation offers the possibility of proposing authentic policies that propitiate a sustainable urban development. Finally, the present work aims to verify the hypothesis that the legal regulations of Urban Law is not truly autonomous, sufficient, coherent and duly applied, unable to guarantee the development of sustainable cities, for which we will take as reference the framework of time space of reality Ecuadorian.
