摘要
Successful companies in the technological field only maintain a leading role, if their innovations are adopted by a majority of consumers. Due to an increasing mobility of today's society and progress in technological infrastructure, the mobile phone technology has been quickly adopted worldwide. While mobile services as "Apps" were quickly adopted, growth rates of Mobile Payment Services (MPS) remained below general expectations, although the technology behind services as "Google Wallet" is stable and offers the benefit of simplicity. Contemporary research, applying established theory models as the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) aimed at identifying drivers and barriers of MPS acceptance. This research paper provides an analysis of existing theory models and of selected empirical research on MPS and suggests the introduction of a new research model that corresponds to global consumer insights.
