摘要
A series of samples of NiMn0.05Tix,MgxFe1.95-2xO4 for x = 0.0, 0.2 were prepared by conventional solid state technique. The spinel cubic structure of this ferrite was confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction technique. The samples were irradiated with 190 MeV Ag ion with different doses ranging from 1 x 10(11) to 1 x 10(13) ions/cm(2). The Mossbauer studies were performed on unirradiated as well as irradiated samples. The Mossbauer study for unirradiated samples show a decrease in hyperfine field on the substitution of non-magnetic ions such as Ti2+ and Mg2+ at Fe site. On irradiation, no appreciable changes are observed in the Mossbauer parameters. However, the extent of the paramagnetic doublet area increased and the broadening of the sextet peaks with fluence clearly indicates the amorphization of the samples due to SHI irradiation. Also an increase in the quadruple splitting values at higher doses is being observed. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
