摘要
This paper reports the preparation of TiO2 thin films sensitized with an upconversion (UC) phosphor for solar water splitting. The effects of the UC phosphor concentration on the morphology and photoelectrochemical (PEC) performance of the prepared samples were examined using a variety of methods. The incorporation of UC phosphor into a TiO2 thin film resulted in dramatic enhancement of the PEC performance. In particular, a photoelectrode containing 7 wt.% UC phosphor exhibited the highest photocurrent compared to other samples. Therefore, simple and scalable method described in this study is promising for industrial applications.
