摘要
The results of full scale measurements of damping as well as other researches on damping show that damping in buildings exhibits randomness and amplitude dependent behavior in the case of tall buildings subjected to dynamic loading. In this paper, based on damping values derived from those full-scale measurements in ESDU, the general equation describing the damping/amplitude relation is obtained. Then the method to evaluate the along-wind response of tall buildings in China is described, where the fluctuating magnification coefficient xi(1) is modeled as having a static component and a narrow-band white noise resonant component which is a function of damping ratio. Based on the above description, the amplitude and amplitude-dependent damping are then evaluated using an iterative process. At last, an example is given and the results are presented and discussed.
