摘要
Samples from waste waters of Alankar, Naimnagar, Bhadrakali tank and industrial effluents of Sirpur-Kaghaznagar, A.P. Rayons paper mills and leather industry were analysed for the presence of purple non-sulphur phototrophic bacteria. The physico-chemical characteristics of the samples were analysed. The bacteria were isolated and identified. Rhodopseudomonas palustris, Rhodospirillum rubrum and Rhodobacter sphaeroides were the dominant purple non-sulphur phototrophic bacteria in waste water samples. Rhodocyclus gelatinosus, Rhodopila globiformis and Rhodopseudomonas rutila were predominant in industrial effluents.
