Coherent ellipsometry of close atomic and ionic resonances by means of coherent four-wave mixing

摘要
A technique for resolving closely spaced atomic and ionic spectral lines in the spectrum of four-wave mixing (FWM) based on coherent ellipsometry is proposed. The developed approach is applied to analyze a pair of close non-lorentzian lines in the FWM spectrum from a laser-produced plasma. It is demonstrated that, under definite conditions, the proposed procedure provides an opportunity to reconstruct the interfering lines in FWM spectra, and to extract the information concerning the phase difference of the relevant resonant components of the third-order polarization of a medium.
