Reduction of remanence in CoCrTaPt high density recording media by pulse field

摘要
The distributions of M/K-u = 2/H-k (peak at about 4.3 A m(2)/J = 4.3 x 10(-4) emu/erg) for an ensemble of independent ferromagnetic single domain grains with in-plane uniaxial anisotropy in CoCrTaPt high density recording media are deduced by analyzing remanent magnetization after application of pulse fields. In the 20 nm thick film there is a tail at the low value side of the distribution, which disappears in the 36 nm thick film where grain growth seems to be more complete.
