In this paper. the design principles of furnace and solids recirculation system of CFB ( Circulating Fluidized Bed) boiler are mainly analyzed. Firstly, selecting and calculation of principal parameters such as fuel particle size, sorbent particle size, calcium to sulfur molar ratio (Ca/S ratio), fluidization velocity, bed temperature, furnace exit temperature, heat release, primary air to secondary air ratio, solids circulation ratio, bed to heating surface heat transfer coefficient are discussed. Secondly, designs of furnace, separator, and solids feedback system and air distributor are discussed. In general many factors should be taken into account for designing reasonable and effective CFB boilers. This paper proposed a feasible design method at present according to fuel characteristics in China and present status of CFB boiler. The design method is reference to the design of CFB boiler.
