New eutectic type Al alloys based on the Al-Ca-La(-Zr, Sc) system

摘要
Phase equilibria in the Al-Ca-La system, microstructure and mechanical properties of alloys were investigated. The most promising alloy contents up to 3 wt% Ca and 2 wt% La (Al3Ca2La). The microstructure consists of Al primary crystals and ultra-fine eutectic which consists of binary Al4Ca and Al4La compounds. The Al3Ca2La alloy in as-cast state has ultimate tensile strength of about 125 +/- 10 MPa, yield strength of 70 +/- 10 MPa and ductility of 15.0 +/- 0.2%. The alloying with zirconium and scandium of up to 0.3 wt% provides an increase in strength properties by two times after sample annealing at 350 degrees C. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
