摘要
The present paper is to compare the effect of Nano fuel additive Aluminum Oxide (Al2O3.) on the emission reduction using of soybean methyl ester and rapeseed methyl ester dual blended biodiesel in a single cylinder, water cooled, direct injection diesel engine. The Nano particles of Al2O3 were dispersed in the fuel by the help of an ultra sonicator. Aluminum oxide works as an oxygen source which contributes in complete combustion and decreases the emissions. The introduction of Nano-fuel additive in dual fuel biodiesel resulted in maximum reduction of about 62% in hydrocarbon (HC) and 12% reduction in carbon monoxide at 50% load condition. It was observed that NOx emission were higher at dual biodiesel operation compared with diesel operation and it was conquered by introduction of Nano-fuel additive in dual fuel additives which resulted in 10% cutback in NOx emission.
